Firenze, Day 8

On day 8, we jumped on a train and visited Lucca. Naturally, the train was an hour or so later than it said it'd arrive in Lucca, with the world's most irritating air conditioning. We wandered around the walls of the city, then hired bikes and cycled around a few times, and then haphazardly through the sporadic, sprawling streets, trying not to run over tourists. We let the bikes go and had Cafe Zero's on the steps of the church, before finding the circular square that Top Gear filmed in and drinking cocktails for hours in there. Later, we walked back through the streets, enjoying the late afternoon sun, and grabbed the train home. Once back, we visited a delicious gelateria on the other side of the Arno, and I had my most adventurous flavours yet, and loved it.
